Job summary

Providence is seeking a PBX Operator in the Petaluma Valley Hospital’s Patient Access Unit. This Per Diem role covers 8-hour day shifts, performing high-volume telephone operations, paging, and code initiations to support hospital operations.

You will route calls accurately and assist in admissions as needed, with on-site responsibilities at the Petaluma campus. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in PBX or customer service, with preferred training in medical terminology and hospital/medical

Description

PBX Operator in Patient Access Unit at Petaluma Valley Hospital. This position is Per Diem and will work 8-hour Day Shifts.

Under minimal supervision, the PBX Operator maintains a high volume voice communications center with primary duties including operation of Hospital telephone console, answering and routing calls with speed and accuracy, operation of overhead paging system, Net Page and initiating codes, and functioning as radio liaison with Security and Engineering staff. Secondary duties include maintaining audit process of all hospital outpatient accounts. Will also perform admission activities as required.

Required Qualifications:

• 1 year PBX/Telephone Operator or customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Medical Terminology training.
• Hospital or Medical office experience.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Pay Range: $25.27 - $33.65
