Job summary

Pursuit-Boats in Florida seeks a woodworking/molds technician to fabricate foam blocks, build platforms, and apply fiberglass finishes. You will operate woodworking equipment safely, follow ISPC mold fabrication processes, and maintain clean, organized work areas in a dusty shop environment.

The role requires reading fabrication drawings, using hand tools, and adhering to safety standards, quality procedures, and 5S housekeeping.

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, work around boats/molds all day
  • Ability to pass strength, stress and drug screening
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment around fiberglass

Responsibilities

  • Apply fiberglass chop and barrier coats on foam plugs
  • Fabricate raw material blocks to drawings or supervisor direction
  • Fabricate plywood bases, decks and platforms and cart structures
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and 5S practices
  • Perform daily equipment maintenance and operate safely
  • Follow ISPC mold fabrication processes
  • Store materials safely and manage inventory

Key Objective:to provide platforms and raw material block-ups to the CNC machinesoperating spray equipmentmaintain schedule and qualityJob Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Application of fiberglass chop & barrier coats on sealed foam plugsfabricate raw material blocks to drawings provided or verbal direction from the supervisor.fabricate plywood basesmanage platforms and cart inventorylayout, cut and bond foam to platforms and carts for both machinesconstruct wood boxed structures as filler for foam block-updeck platforms and carts with plywood as substrate to bond foam blocksstrip platforms after mold production and prepare for reuseEnsure all operations are performed safelymaintain all areas and equipment clean neat and organized, at all timesconduct daily routine maintenance of equipmentStore all materials safely at the end of the dayConduct operations using TDC mold fabrication approved processes (ISPC)Proficiencies:Safe operation of table saws , band saws , sanders, planers etc.Chop gun and barrier gun (Spraycore)Use of typical woodworking hand toolsUnderstanding of adhesive systems and their useReading fabrication drawingsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafety: provides for continuous improvement and zero recordable safety environment.Quality: responsible for Adherence of procedures and processes.Delivery: responsible for maintaining schedule to meet key milestones.Cost: Maintains departmental budget in labor and materials.Other similar duties may be assignedLeads by example.Ensures all associates comply with Pursuits policies, codes, and procedures.Supports a predictable work environment where associates are held accountable and treated with respect, constantly challenged and praised for continuous improvement of process, work environment, and themselves.Supports plans to achieve key metrics for their department, i.e. safety, turnover, and supply spending.Understands environmental compliance as it relates to material used in their area: chemical handling, usage, labeling, storage, and disposal.Supports continuous improvement utilizing Safety system, Kaizen, CAR system, and other problem-solving techniques.Responsible for the proper maintenance of all equipment used in their area.
