PAYROLL TECHNICIAN II
CSEA Range 33; Full-time/Non-Exempt; 40 hours per week; 12 months per year
Butte College is seeking a Payroll Technician II to join our Fiscal Services team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately, timely, and efficiently, including reviewing and processing time records, payroll transactions, adjustments, deductions, and retirement-related information.
This position supports internal and external audits, financial and statistical reporting, payroll reconciliations, and other reporting needs across the District. The role also provides excellent customer service and will partner with Payroll, Human Resources, and IT to optimize payroll systems and processes, test system enhancements, strengthen procedures, and support future technology and process-improvement initiatives.
The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Over the summer the schedule changes to Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Fridays off.
*Associate degree education equivalency is a 1 to 1 equivalency, one year of responsible work experience related to the classification for each full year (24-30 units) of college.
