Job summary

Bobmooredodgechryslerjeep is seeking a Payroll Supervisor for the Shred Services Center in Oklahoma City to lead payroll specialists, ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance, and act as the escalation point for issues. You will coach the team, drive process improvements, manage work plans, and partner with Accounting, HR and Operations to maintain accurate pay and regulatory reporting.

This role requires strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and a solid track record in payroll

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of fast paced customer experience.
  • Experience with various payroll systems and implementation.
  • Experience in a shared service environment and solid understanding of HR cycles.
  • Technical writing experience in drafting legally compliant pay plans.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, rules & regulations.
  • Ability to work with accounting to streamline payroll calculations and communication.
  • Excellentcomputer skills, competent in all Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Interpret day-to-day business objectives and execution of those objectives.
  • Supervise Payroll staff and fill in as needed and prepare work schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Hiring, training, motivating and coaching employees as they provide attentive, efficient service to customers.
  • Assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities.
  • Resolving conflicts or complaints from customers and employees.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain dealership pay plans.
  • Maintain database of company-wide pay plans and guidelines by job type.
  • Work with Manager to ensure pay plan standardization, regulation, and compliance.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings.
  • Assist in monitoring workload and evaluate direct reports and review the evaluations/development plans of others.
  • Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needs.
  • Provide guidance to and shares knowledge with colleagues/team members relating to own specialization.
  • Create annual team objectives.
  • Escalate potential service issues to Manager.
  • Directors work within clear budgetary guidelines.
  • Participates in interview process for new hires into Payroll roles.
  • Defines standards and reusable approaches within the payroll operational framework.
  • Train team members on new or enhanced operation procedures and policies.
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes.
  • Approve any manual off-cycle check payments.
  • Implement quality control measures.
  • Communicate actively with Accounting, HR, and Operations.
  • Oversee audit requests, tax reconciliation, year end and W-2 processes.
  • Ensure compliance with wage garnishment and child support regulations.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems to optimize utilization.
  • Prepare monthly compensation reporting for the executive team including dealership and management reporting.
  • Usespersonal device to provide an additional layer of security for companynetwork and site access through multi-factor authentication.
  • Special projects, ad hoc reporting, and additional duties as necessary and assigned.

Payroll Supervisor - Shred Services Center

Position Summary

The Payroll Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising the payroll specialists, ensuring that all processes are executed accurately, timely and in compliance. This position is the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues and continuously looks for improvements in operational processes and designs and implements those initiatives. The supervisor will optimize the contributions of the team through coaching, counseling, motivating and support to implement workable solutions to business issues/problems with minimum referral to management. The supervisor will conduct work planning, estimation, and prioritization to optimize performance of team and work with Manager to define standards and reusable approaches for Payroll operations.
