Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-state payroll preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls.
  • Review and audit timecards, earnings, deductions, and taxes.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records and data integrity.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and status changes.
  • Administer garnishments and other deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and prepare journal entries.
  • Assist with payroll tax filings and W-2 processing.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and support audits with HR/Finance.

Responsibilities


  • The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing various payroll schedules including weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls for employees.

  • This includes reviewing and auditing payroll data, such as timecards, earnings, deductions, and taxes, to ensure accuracy.

  • Maintaining comprehensive employee payroll records and ensuring data integrity within payroll systems is a key aspect of the role.

  • The specialist will process new hires, terminations, status changes, and compensation updates, ensuring all information is correctly reflected in payroll records.

  • Administering wage garnishments, levies, child support orders, and other deductions is an essential part of daily operations.

  • The role also involves reconciling payroll reports, preparing journal entries, and assisting with payroll tax filings, including year-end activities like W-2 processing.

  • Responding to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, and deductions, supporting audit procedures, and collaborating with Human Resources and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations are vital responsibilities.

  • Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll processing.
