Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Payroll Specialist to maintain payroll records for all staff, collect and analyze information to resolve discrepancies, and answer questions from employees and the Payroll Manager, upholding confidentiality and compliance.

Key tasks include entering data into the payroll system, processing hires and terminations, generating earnings and tax reports, balancing totals, resolving issues, and supporting the payroll and finance teams on special projects.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in payroll or related field.
  • High school diploma.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential

Description

The Payroll Specialist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for maintaining payroll records of employees of Northwestern Medicine. The Payroll Specialist will collect and analyze information to resolve payroll discrepancies as well as answer questions and process requests of both the Payroll Manager and the employees of Northwestern Medicine.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data into the payroll system
