As a Payroll Specialist at Kurt J. Lesker Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. You will manage payroll processes, ensure compliance, and support employees with professionalism and empathy. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage full-cycle biweekly payroll processes and related accounting tasks for multistate U.S. locations and Canada, including system maintenance, tax activities, financial reporting, bank reconciliations, census data, employee change requests, overtime, garnishments, and unemployment verifications.
  2. Ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations and tax laws.
  3. Calculate and process monthly incentive and commission payments.
  4. Administer benefit programs and maintain documentation in accordance with regulations and policies.
  5. Oversee Workers’ Compensation claims and collaborate with the EHS Manager to maintain OSHA documentation.
  6. Maintain and suggest upgrades for HRIS and time and attendance systems.
  7. Respond to inquiries from employees, vendors, and others, resolving issues promptly.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience with processing payroll in a multistate environment; ADP experience preferred.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or HR.
  3. Associate’s degree in a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  4. Proficiency with computers, including advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills; familiarity with benefit carriers’ systems.
  5. Ability to suggest and implement process improvements.
  6. Experience with D365 or other ERP systems.
  7. Ability to work accurately under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Discretion in handling confidential information.
  9. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
