We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead North American payroll operations across the United States and Canada. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in payroll regulations, tax compliance, and team leadership, along with a strategic mindset for process innovation and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees in compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local laws
  • Manage payroll schedules, reconciliations, and reporting cycles in alignment with company policies and statutory requirements
  • Partner with Finance, HR, and external vendors to ensure seamless payroll integration and data accuracy
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and tax regulations, ensuring all filings, remittances, and audits are compliant
  • Lead internal controls and risk mitigation efforts related to payroll and taxation
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing payroll team, fostering collaboration and accountability
  • Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging automation and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Monitor payroll KPIs and SLAs to ensure operational excellence and employee satisfaction
  • Act as the primary contact for payroll-related inquiries and escalations, providing strategic insights to leadership on payroll trends and risks
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field; CPP or PCP certification preferred
  • 5–7 years of progressive payroll experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven expertise in U.S. and Canadian payroll processing and tax compliance
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems and HRIS integrations
  • Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and/or ADP GlobalView; experience with Oracle HCM Cloud
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement and stakeholder alignment
