Job summary

Bloomberg L.P. in New York is seeking a Payroll Analyst to support US & Canada payroll for 14,000 US employees and 80 Canadian employees, handling multiple currencies in internal systems with accuracy and timeliness.

You will audit payroll, respond to inquiries, implement efficient procedures, and collaborate with business partners. A 5+ year background, a finance/Accounting degree, and advanced Excel skills are required; FPC/CPP and PeopleSoft/Workday experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5 years payroll experience at a multi-state company of 5,000+ employees
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot)
• Strong payroll practices, auditing and procedures
• Understanding of multi-state taxation and non-resident visa taxation
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Intellectual curiosity through training or experience
• Ability to research and resolve inquiries and complete complex tasks
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• High level of customer service with employees and internal stakeholders
• Knowledge of garnishment wages

Responsibilities

• Assist with US semi-monthly payroll for ~14,000 employees and Canada payroll for ~80 employees
• Review and audit payroll for accuracy per policies
• Respond to employee and inter-department inquiries
• Develop and improve efficient operating procedures
• Coordinate employee termination payments per state regulations
• Audit visa populations and update payroll systems
• Review and resolve payroll integration errors daily
• Assist year-end processing and special projects
• Collaborate with internal/external partners and vendors
• Leverage Agile Scrum to organize workload and coordinate projects
