This role is essential in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Job Description

Position title: Payroll Administrator

Department: Finance/HR

Position band: Administrator

Type of position: Full-time, permanent

Role Requirements
Need to have:
  • High school diploma (Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll administration
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar systems)
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of tax laws and compliance
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication skills for addressing employee concerns and explaining payroll issues
  • Experience with benefits administration and deductions
Compensation

$45,000-55,000/yr with Health, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, and 401(k) with company match.

Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing:
    • Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including bi-weekly or monthly payroll cycles
    • Ensure accuracy in employee pay, deductions, and benefit calculations
  • Compliance & Reporting:
    • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure compliance
    • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and regulatory bodies as needed
  • Employee Support:
    • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly
    • Educate employees on payroll policies, benefits, and deductions
  • Record Keeping & Audits:
    • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure they are audit-ready at all times
    • Assist in payroll audits and resolve discrepancies
  • Work closely with HR and Finance teams to integrate payroll changes, new hires, and terminations into the payroll system
