The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, at least 3 years of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills, with attention to detail and organizational ability to meet multiple deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries.
  • Review payroll taxes and ensure timely and accurate tax payments.
  • Review federal and state payroll tax filings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Post payroll activity to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile payroll bank accounts and assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare payroll accruals and month-end journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting.
  • Perform payroll-related variance analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Process state unemployment payments for multiple entities.
  • Assist with other accounting and finance projects as needed.
