Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting with 3–5 years in accounting positions.
• Knowledge of payables regulations for higher education (IRS, federal, state).
• Supervisory experience with emphasis on customer service and team leadership.
• Experience with ERP (Workday preferred) and electronic invoice/expense management software.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor staff in accounts payable; set goals and review performance.
• Oversee weekly payables including electronic payments and checks.
• Manage expense reporting in Workday, including reimbursements.
• Close monthly, quarterly, and annual processes for payables and liabilities.
• Coordinate bulk payments for large groups with campus departments.
• Prepare work papers for audits and tax returns; liaise with auditors.
• Monitor internal controls and implement improvements.
• Research new accounting rules and IRS regulations; document conclusions.
• Maintain vendor data integrity with procurement.
• Identify AI/automation opportunities to improve AP processes.
• Participate in special projects; system upgrades, financial analysis.
