Job description

Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. By combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission‑critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost.

Following our $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding our manufacturing footprint, launching new capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more, while scaling our Factory-as-a-Service platform to transform how critical products are built.

Backed by leading investors including JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley, we’re building the future of American manufacturing—and looking for exceptional people to help make it happen.

If you’re ready to take on the most challenging and rewarding work of your career while helping create American manufacturing jobs for generations to come, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

About the Role

The Training Specialist - Welding owns welding training at their site. You will teach technicians to weld to a written standard across TIG, MIG and mechanized processes, run the evaluations that confirm they are ready, and keep the training records and documentation that the program is audited against. The role works closely with our naval customer as a representative of Hadrian.

This is a senior individual contributor role. You will report to the site Training Operations Manager, with a dotted line to our welding training lead, who sets the welding curriculum and standard. You will set your own course with minimal oversight, direct trainees day to day without managing them, and make recommendations to leadership when the program needs them.

What You Will Do

You will lead welding training at your site, delivering hands‑on instruction in the booth and on the floor and acting as the technical expert for the technicians you train. You will bring technicians to weld to the written standard across TIG, MIG and mechanized welding, with consistent execution across every shift, and you will learn new processes and methods as they are introduced and turn them into clear, teachable steps.

You will own the evaluation process, including weld tests, practical assessments, quizzes, progress reporting and evaluation criteria across hard and soft skills. You will record training, evaluations and qualifications in our training software so records are complete and current, and you will maintain version‑controlled, audit‑ready welding training documentation and conduct training audits for procedural compliance.

You will develop and refine welding curriculum with our welding training lead, adapting the core training system to your site. You will give trainees day‑to‑day direction and elevate performance concerns to the Training Operations Manager, and you will carry Hadrian's standards and culture into your work with our naval customer.

What You Bring

Required

  • Experience in multiple welding disciplines, including TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW) and mechanized welding

  • 3+ years in a training, instructing or teaching role focused on entry‑level individual contributors

  • At least 1 year welding in a production environment

  • Proven ability to train people from entry level to mid level to weld to a written standard

  • Openness to learning new processes and methods, and to reteaching as they change

  • Comfort working with software to record training, evaluations and qualifications

  • Experience maintaining training documentation to an audit‑ready standard

  • Ability to recognize patterns in how people learn and give objective, actionable recommendations to leadership

  • A self‑starter who manages their own time and priorities with minimal oversight

  • Willingness to travel around 25%, primarily to our Los Angeles facility for training purposes

Preferred, not necessary

  • Experience welding or training to NAVSEA standards

  • Experience with robotic welding; this can be learned and trained in role

  • Welding certifications such as AWS Certified Welder, Certified Welding Educator or Certified Welding Inspector

  • Experience building welding curriculum or training documentation from the ground up

  • Ability to influence without direct authority

  • Comfort representing a company in front of a customer

  • High emotional intelligence; improves on feedback and coaches others

  • Passion for training, career development and Hadrian's mission of reindustrializing the nation's workforce

Our Values
  • Surgical Precision: welds, evaluations, records and documentation have to be exact.

  • Own the Outcome: you own the training outcome at your site and meet the intent of the standard.

  • Build, Edit, Scale: our welding curriculum is moving from pilot to scale, and you will help refine it.

Compensation

For this role, the target salary range is $27 - $45 (actual range may vary based on experience).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
