Job summary

Landmark Paving is seeking a Paving Superintendent to oversee field operations for asphalt paving projects, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met. You will manage multiple crews, coordinate logistics, and act as the field liaison between management, clients, and subcontractors.

The role requires 8+ years in asphalt paving with leadership experience, strong planning and communication skills, and a willingness to travel for out‑of‑area projects.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or superintendent role.
  • In‑depth knowledge of paving methods, materials, equipment, and QC/QA standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews and deliver projects on tight schedules.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build cohesive teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, grades, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in daily reporting, scheduling tools, and production tracking.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus.
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
  • Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day‑to‑day paving operations across multiple active job sites
  • Be competent in all aspects of parking lot maintenance, concrete repair, asphalt paving, seal‑coating, drain structure repairs, signage installation, and general heavy civil construction activities
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate labor, equipment, and materials for optimal productivity
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds specifications for quality, safety, and compliance
  • Lead and mentor foremen, operators, and laborers to maintain high performance and crew morale
  • Monitor and enforce site safety standards (OSHA, company policies, traffic control)
  • Work closely with project managers to review plans, resolve issues, and align on scope and schedule
  • Track production rates, equipment usage, labor hours, and material quantities
  • Conduct daily site visits and meetings to assess progress and support field staff
  • Build strong relationships with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Provide input on estimating, constructability, and project planning for upcoming work
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
