Job summary

BROTHERS Pro-Pave LLC in Harrison, OH is seeking a dependable Paving Crew Laborer to join our road and sitework team. You will assist with asphalt paving, prepare job sites, operate basic tools, and support the crew to ensure quality pavement installation in outdoor conditions.

This physically demanding role requires safety awareness, strong work ethic, and ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Prior paving experience is preferred but not required; willingness to travel overnight and work long hours is

Qualifications

• Prior construction or paving experience preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical labor in hot, outdoor conditions.
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance are essential.
• Valid Driver's License preferred.
• Ability to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area.
• Willingness to work long hours, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site prep, grading, and cleaning before paving.
• Shovel, rake, and smooth asphalt materials during paving operations.
• Operate basic construction tools and assist with equipment setup and cleanup.
• Direct traffic and set up safety zones around job sites as needed.
• Work alongside equipment operators to ensure smooth material flow.

Job Summary -

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Paving Crew Laborer to join our road and sitework construction team. In this role, you’ll assist with all aspects of asphalt paving, including preparing job sites, operating tools and equipment, and supporting the crew to ensure high-quality pavement installation. This is a physically demanding position that requires a strong work ethic, safety awareness, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Key Responsibilities -

• Assist with site prep, grading, and cleaning before paving
• Shovel, rake, and smooth asphalt materials during paving operations
• Operate basic construction tools and assist with equipment setup and cleanup
• Direct traffic and set up safety zones around job sites as needed
• Work alongside equipment operators to ensure smooth material flow
• Clean tools, trucks, and equipment at the end of each shift
• Follow directions from foreman and experienced crew members
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment
• Offloading the truck and gathering tools for the day
• Transporting rakes, lutes, shovels, and spray cans to the paver
• Sweeping and cleaning the area in front of the paver
• Measuring and lining out the area for the day’s paving
• Transporting water to the rollers, power broom, and plate compactor
• Assisting the screed operator
• Maintaining cleanliness and packing equipment away at the end of the day.
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements -

• Prior construction or paving experience is preferred, but not required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical labor in hot, outdoor conditions
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance are essential
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and ability to use PPE correctly
• Valid Drivers License preferred
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
• Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area
