Job summary

Allan Myers, Inc. is seeking a Paving CDL Driver to safely operate paving-related vehicles including Tack, Sweeper, and Water Trucks in Virginia.

The role supports asphalt paving operations, ensures material application is timely, maintains site cleanliness, and coordinates with the paving crew. Qualified candidates will have 1–2 years of CDL driving experience (GVW 33,000+), a Tanker endorsement, and a valid Class B license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred or related work experience.
• 1-2 yrs CDL driving experience with GVW 33,000+ pounds.
• Must have Tanker endorsement.
• In compliance with all DOT physical requirements.
• Valid class B Commercial Driver's License is required.
• Hazmat experience preferred but not required.
• Experience loading/unloading fuel/oil from fuel truck.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate paving-related vehicles to support asphalt operations.
• Perform daily pre/post trip inspections and report issues.
• Drive to predetermined destinations and coordinate with paving crew.
• Maintain truck logs per state/federal regulations and company policy.
• Report traffic or site condition issues promptly and locate job sites routes.
• Assist with truck maintenance and cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

The Paving CDL Driver will safely operate paving-related vehicles such as Tack, Sweeper, and Water Trucks to support asphalt paving operations, ensuring timely material application, site cleanliness, and safe coordination with the paving crew. Conducts all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.

• Makes daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle in order to maintain maximum vehicle safety conditions and to check for any damaged or work parts or for any signs of tampering. Must report all problems found to the shop immediately.


• Drives truck to predetermined destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and of roads in the area.


• Work with Paving Crews.


• Maintains a truck log in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policy.


• Communicates any problems with traffic or with site conditions are reported promptly. Also, gets information on the location of the job site and the locations of any light bridges or roads on the way to the site.


• Complies with all aspects of truck maintenance, cleanliness and repair in accordance with the guidelines specified in the Truck Driver's Handbook.


• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
