Job summary

AA Asphalting is seeking an experienced Paver Operator to work outdoors on asphalt and concrete restoration projects in the Pacific Northwest. You will drive and operate pavers and related equipment, perform prep work, and contribute to safe, efficient project completion.

Responsibilities include equipment operation, daily checks, loading/unloading, and basic labor tasks as needed. Strong safety awareness and ability to work long hours in all weather are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Class A CDL preferred.
• Ability to work weekends and occasional nights.
• Ability to travel to various worksites and endure long hours in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate pavers and related equipment, including backhoes, grinders, graders, rollers, and trucks.
• Perform daily equipment checks, fueling and reporting maintenance needs to the mechanic.
• Load/unload equipment, secure on trailers, and ensure on-site safety practices.
• Perform non-operator labor such as driving, shoveling, raking, and flagging as needed.

Our team provides quality workmanship and outstanding service to our customers who are represented by public utilities, government agencies, general contractors, and businesses.
We are looking for an experienced Paver Operator that likes to work outside and takes pride in a job completed safely and efficiently.
Summary
Drives and operates pavers, as well as one or more machines such as backhoes, grinders, graders, lowboys, roller, jackhammer, compressors, and trucks. To perform specified activity such as moving material, leveling, grading, and paving by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Has working knowledge of equipment operation for machines assigned, including driving.
• Checks equipment daily for oil, fluid levels, damage and wear areas (teeth, grinder, etc.). Fuels equipment daily.
• Ability to determine speed and direction on machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures, so that ridges do not form by excessive pressure.
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of paving industry prep work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
• Reports all damage or required repairs as needed to the mechanic on duty in a timely manner.
• Completes equipment checklist and turns in on a daily basis.
• Loads and unloads equipment from trailers. Ensures that equipment is correctly secured on trailers.
• Ensures equipment is cleaned at the end of each job, each day.
• Operates equipment safely at all times. Does not allow riders on the equipment while operating.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures.
• Performs non-operator, general labor work as needed including driving, shoveling, raking, rolling and flagging duties.
