Job summary

The City of Charlotte is hiring for a position focused on installing and maintaining pavement markings with a strong emphasis on heavy manual labor. You will support work crews and may assist other sections on special projects.

Responsibilities include operating pavement marking tools, documenting work, and setting up traffic control devices in compliance with MUTCD standards. A CDL and prior related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• One (1) year work experience with heavy equipment, construction, traffic control, or pavement markings.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain pavement markings.
• Operate a variety of specialized pavement marking tools and equipment.
• Load and unload materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure all related Pavement Markings tasks are completed correctly and efficiently.
• Maintain detailed work records including maintenance forms, inventory forms, vehicle inspections forms, daily work logs and other documentation.
• Set up temporary traffic control, safety cones and signs according to the CDOT WATCH handbook, MUTCD and specialized training.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following appropriate procedures, utilizing PPE and report unsafe conditions.
• Perform related work as required.
