Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a vigilant patrol officer to help ensure the safety and welfare of patients, visitors, and staff. You will patrol assigned areas, respond to emergencies, and maintain security while collaborating with a diverse team.

Responsibilities include independent judgment in high-risk situations, timely reporting, and assisting others as incidents occur. A sign-on bonus is offered for external talent. Training on PHI and UH policies is provided.

• Relates to and works effectively with people of diverse cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds
• Patrols assigned area for unusual or criminal activity or conditions that may endanger public safety while maintaining high visibility. Conducts security checks.
• Is approachable and offers assistance when needed by patients, visitors, guests or other employees.
• Responds to emergency calls appropriately
• Prepares and processes required reports in a timely manner.
• Maintains security of assigned zone to ensure safety of medical staff, employees, patients and visitors.
• Communicates with patients, visitors, and staff to gather information
• Courteously and promptly assists other employees, visitors or patients when incidents occur.

Job description

A Brief Overview

Sign on Bonus - $2500 for external talent. Paid out half at 90 days, half at 1 year.

The patrol officer is responsible to help ensure the safety and welfare of patients, visitors and other staff members of UH. Helps to keep the hospital and grounds a safe environment free of theft and other criminal activities.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
