City of Kings Mountain is seeking a sworn law enforcement officer to patrol streets, respond to emergencies, investigate incidents, enforce traffic laws and prepare detailed reports. The role requires judgment, initiative and good public relations with residents and colleagues.

Qualifications include a high school diploma with basic training and a Basic Law Enforcement Certificate or equivalent experience. This is a full-time on-site position with standard department procedures and safety

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws, local ordinances and police policies.
• Proficiency in law enforcement principles, practices, methods and equipment.
• Ability to apply information technology to law enforcement work.
• Skilled in using firearms and other police equipment; proficient in self-defense tactics.
• Strong communication and public relations abilities.

Responsabilités

• Patrol streets by car, bicycle or on foot within a patrol area.
• Respond to calls for assistance, assess situations and take appropriate action.
• Investigate traffic accidents, issue citations and direct traffic.
• Investigate crimes, interview witnesses, collect evidence and present findings in court.
• Prepare activity records and reports; advise the public on laws and ordinances.
• Assist stranded motorists and provide directions; may serve on a special traffic squad.
