Job summary

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office in Maine is seeking Patrol Deputies to serve and protect our communities with a professional, community-focused approach to law enforcement. Starting pay $32.15/hour+, full-time (40 hours) with full benefits, shift differentials and stipends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old (20 with 60 college credits).
• Must reside in Maine within 15 miles of Cumberland County.
• Ability to pass a background investigation.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas and respond to calls for service.
• Enforce federal, state, and local laws.
• Conduct traffic stops, investigations, and arrests.
• Respond to disturbances and emergency situations.
• Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects.
• Gather evidence and complete detailed reports.
• Build relationships with community members through proactive policing.
