Qualifications

• Must graduate from high school or have equivalent.
• Must complete State Basic Training Academy or POST certification or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years or older at time of employment.
• Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license without record of suspension or revocation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service and emergencies.
• Patrol Gunnison County and surrounding areas.
• Enforce state and local laws and conduct traffic enforcement.
• Investigate motor vehicle crashes and conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations.
• Prepare reports, document incidents, and collect evidence.
• Collaborate with other agencies and assist residents and visitors.
