Job summary

The Gasconade County Sheriff's Office in Hermann, MO is seeking two full-time Patrol Deputies to join our patrol division. Deputies will patrol 512 square miles, respond to calls, conduct investigations, write reports, and perform related law enforcement duties as assigned by the command staff.

Minimum requirements include US citizenship, age 21+, a clean background, a valid MO driver license, a high school diploma or GED, and MO P.O.S.T. certification.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check and drug tests.
• MO P.O.S.T. Class A or B certification.
• Valid Missouri Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Patrol county in radio-equipped vehicle to enforce laws and ordinances.
• Respond to calls-for-service and conduct on-scene investigations.
• Prepare reports and follow-up on incidents as directed by command staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Sheriff.

Job description

The Gasconade County Sheriff's Office in Hermann, MO is accepting applicants for two full-time Patrol Deputies. The GCSO is currently staffed with 13 commissioned deputies who patrol 512 square miles in east central Missouri with a population of approximately 16,000 people. The Patrol Deputy performs a variety of law enforcement duties within the county, including but not limited to: patrolling in a radio-equipped vehicle to preserve law and order by discovering/preventing the commission of crimes and enforcing Federal, State and County ordinances; responds to calls of service, report writing, on-scene investigations as well as follow up incidents. Many other duties are required as directed by the command staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• United States Citizen
• 21 years of age
• Must be able to able to pass a criminal background check, a drug test (and will be subject to random drug testing).
• Must be able to achieve and maintain a level of physical fitness that allows Deputies to safely and competently perform the essential functions of the job.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Possess Class A or B MO P.O.S.T. certification.
• Possess a valid Missouri Driver License
• Must not have been convicted of, plead guilty or no contest to, or been diverted on a serious traffic violation within the past five years.
• Benefits include county paid employee health insurance up to $600 per month, paid retirement (LAGERS and CERF), uniforms and all required equipment to include patrol rifle, shotgun, Taser, etc. Take-home patrol car for employees who reside within a reasonable distance of the county line, as specified by the Sheriff.
