Job summary

The U.S. Army is looking for candidates for the position of PATRIOT launching station enhanced operator. This role is part of the Army's critical air defense operation. Responsibilities include placing and operating the PATRIOT missile systems, performing maintenance, and ensuring effective communication in the field.

No prior experience is needed, and candidates will receive training at no cost, with full pay during this period. Candidates must pass the ASVAB tests to qualify.

Qualifications

Overview

A PATRIOT launching station enhanced operator works directly with the PATRIOT launching stations. This is an important part of the Army’s air defense. The PATRIOT missile system can launch advanced-technology ammunition that can neutralize multiple air targets.

Job Duties

• Place the PATRIOT launching system in the field
• Operate PATRIOT launcher electronic systems
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Handle and supply PATRIOT missiles
• Establish radio and wire communications in the field

Compensation

Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time.

Qualifications

Requirements: Those who want to serve must first take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.

Training

Job training requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Part of the time is spent in the classroom and in the field under simulated combat conditions.
