Job summary

Seattle Children’s is seeking staff to provide supervision, coaching, and support to patients and families in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on interventions to maintain safety for patients with mental and behavioral health challenges and requires ability to work with patients exhibiting a range of behavioral and physical symptoms related to mental illness.

Evenings/Nights 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m./rotating weekends; Benefits & Shift Differential Eligible.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of related experience in customer service and/or caring for and maintaining safety of children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision, coaching, and support to patients and families.
  • Maintain safety of patients with mental and behavioral health challenges in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Address a variety of behavioral and physical symptoms related to mental illness in different settings.

Job description

Provide supervision, coaching, and support to patients and families. Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment and provide interventions to maintain safety of patients with mental and behavioral health challenges in a variety of settings. Must be able to work with patients that are experiencing a variety of behavioral and physical symptoms related to mental illness.

Evenings/Nights 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m./rotating weekends

Required Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • At least one (1) year of related experience in customer service and/or caring for and maintaining safety of children
Required Credentials
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) on hire
  • Safety Care certification (internal training) required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter
Preferred
  • Training in verbal de-escalation and/or non-violent crisis intervention
Experience Working With Children Or Adolescents - Highly Preferred
  • Experience working in inpatient behavioral health settings - highly preferred
  • American Sign Language Skills.
  • Training in Mental Health First Aid
Compensation Range

$23.15 - $34.73 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
