Job summary

Trinity Health Livingston is seeking a Hospital Transport professional to transfer patients safely between care areas and diagnostic sites. You will work with nurses and providers to ensure smooth transports and maintain documentation and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED recommended.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Experience: Prior healthcare experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Transport stable patients to and from diagnostic/test areas and inpatient units.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, and care providers.
• Speak with RN or Healthcare Provider before transport and after patient returns to unit.
• Assist patients with restroom needs as necessary.
• Safely transfer patients using devices (slings, slide boards, etc.).
• Clean transport equipment between patients.
• Transport, locate, and redistribute equipment (stretcher, wheelchair, oxygen, etc.).
• Replace oxygen tanks as needed (<500 psi).
• Provide directions to families/visitors.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Attend departmental meetings and continuing education activities.
