Job summary

UPMC in Pittsburgh is seeking a part-time Transporter to escort patients and support the patient experience with care and compassion. You will work in a busy hospital, interacting with patients and staff to ensure timely, safe transport and accurate handoffs.

The role requires weekend and holiday participation, with a biweekly schedule aligned to 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on alternate weekends. CPR/BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and disinfecting procedures on equipment used by the department.
• Record transportation data electronically or on logs used by the department.
• Deliver supplies, equipment, and materials to patient units in a safe, timely manner.
• Transport patients and adjunct equipment between units and treatment centers.
• Maintain professional demeanor and communicate with patients and staff at all times.
• Follow instructions to successfully complete transportation tasks.
