Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a patient transporter in Holly Springs, NC to move patients between units and to diagnostic areas. You’ll support nursing staff, keep equipment clean and ready, and help maintain a safe and orderly environment on a per diem basis.

Responsibilities include transporting patients ranging from stable to complex cases, delivering supplies, and assisting health professionals as needed. Certification in BLS within 30 days is required, with no prior experience necessary.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required within 30 days of hire
• No prior experience required

Responsibilities

• Assists health professionals as appropriate to assigned work area
• Ensures that medical equipment necessary for patient transport is clean, functional and operational
• Helps maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Procures, processes, and/or delivers equipment, supplies, nourishments, and other resources to the assigned area on a routine basis and during emergency situations
• Transports patients to other nursing units, to diagnostic and treatment areas, and for discharge from the Hospitals
