Job summary

Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Kentucky is seeking a Patient Transporter to support the smooth operation of the medical center by coordinating and executing patient movements between departments. You will help move patients with appropriate equipment and communicate with patients and families about transport needs.

The role requires adherence to safety standards and the ability to transfer patients using bed, stretcher, or wheelchair with support from clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient movement requests between departments
• Communicate with patients and families about transport needs
• Move patients using appropriate mode of transport and manage care equipment (IV poles, oxygen lines)
• Transfer patients to and from bed, stretcher, or wheelchair with/without staff assistance
• Maintain cleanliness of stretchers, wheelchairs, oxygen cylinders, and related equipment
