Job summary

AdventHealth Daytona Beach is seeking an Overnight Transporter to join our patient care team. You will move equipment, assist with transfers, and ensure rapid, safe movement of patients and supplies during night shifts.

You will communicate with patients, families, and clinicians, operate stretchers and wheelchairs, and document transport details in our system. The role requires good English, a high school diploma, and a friendly, professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in English and able to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Ability to use a computer for patient information and department clerical tasks.
• Ability to operate stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Move equipment to designated storage areas to keep hallways clear.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Transport patients using stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, or cribs.
• Assist in safe transfers between bed, stretcher, or wheelchair.
• Record transport details in the Transportation system.

Job Description:

Overnights

11pm - 7:30am

Maintains clear hallways by moving unused equipment to designated storage areas. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Ensures the proper handling and delivery of medical equipment and supplies. Participates in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge. Other duties as assigned. Assists in the safe transfers of patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair. Facilitates the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients using stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs. Transports patient-related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment efficiently. Accurately records transport details and reports necessary information using the Transportation system.

• Communication Skills: Able to communicate in English using good diction, and respond to peoples needs in a pleasant and courteous manner as perceived by the customer, and as appropriate to infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Technical Skills: Ability to operate stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs.
• Must be proficient in the English language and able to read, write, and follow oral instructions.

• Ability to follow patient identification/verification process prior to transporting all patients.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$15.15 - $22.73
