Job description

Job Description:

This position is responsible for transporting patients, focusing on quality, safety, and customer service, while providing care and compassion to patients, families, visitors, and staff.

Job Essentials

• Transport inpatients safely and efficiently.
• Use appropriate and approved transport pathways to ensure confidentiality. Use suitable travel methods and equipment as directed.
• Utilize Safe Patient Handling equipment as indicated.
• Follow isolation and standard precautions appropriately.
• Place soiled linen in designated areas.
• Dress carts and wheelchairs with linen as per procedure.
• Clean transport equipment after each use and return it to storage areas.
• Respond to emergencies such as Code Disaster, Green, Pink, Red, and Yellow. Know the locations of fire extinguishers and pull boxes.
• Notify the patient's nurse when transporting patients to/from rooms and inform test site staff upon patient arrival for testing.
• Complete the written Patient Handoff Form before transport and submit it afterward.
• Write the test location on the patient's room whiteboard when leaving with a patient.
• Report any issues during transport related to patient safety or condition to the nurse or test site staff.
• Respond promptly to communication devices like pagers or Vocera badges.
• Maintain open communication with operators and staff.
• Inform test sites and operators of delays and complete transports efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Must be at least 18 years old to work in Radiology areas, per Intermountain's policy.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous hospital experience is preferred.

Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Pushing/Pulling, Seeing, Speaking, Walking, Standing.

Work Hours:

Scheduled weekly hours are 0. The hourly rate ranges from $16.56 to $21.53, depending on experience.
