Job summary

Responsibilities

• Transports patients with excellent customer service, communicates to the patient destination and needs (blankets, elevator delays).
• Wears assigned transport uniform; ID visible at all times.
• Checks system during low volume, handles calls, completes transport at destination.
• Documents all transport data via transporter log sheet; verifies double ID and ticket to ride.
• Performs SSSI checks and ensures proper patient identification during transport.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Patient Transporter.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Transports patients using excellent customer service skills. Communicates to the patient re:destination, needs for blankets, bumps going on and off the elevator, elevator delays, etc.
• Wear assigned patient transport uniform in a neat and presentable fashion. ID card isabove the waist and clearly visible at all times.
• During low volume, checks the system periodically to see if calls are pending. Does notreject jobs, uses delay flags as required and completes the job at destination.
• Documents allpatient transportdata via thetransporter log sheet.This includeschecking off dbl ID,Ticket to Ride, andSSSI.
• During transport:appropriatelyperforms SSSI(equipment) and double identification.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Must be able to speak, read, understand, and follow simple directions in English. Some motor dexterity is required. Good interpersonal skills are necessary.Excellent customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $24.63 - $24.63 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
