Job summary

St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles is hiring a full-time transporter to move patients between departments and assist with front office duties.

The role includes darkroom tasks, stocking, assisting with dressing patients, and basic clerical work such as answering calls and retrieving records. The transporter will interact with patients and visitors in a courteous manner, and will use PACS and standard office equipment to support department operations.

Qualifications

• Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current throughout employment.
• Transportation experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from the department and supports front office duties.
• Performs related tasks such as darkroom duties, stocking supplies, dressing patients, and assisting with clerical duties, including answering phones and greeting patients.
• Utilizes PACS and office equipment to support patient care and record retrieval.

Responsibilities

The following statements are intended to describe the major elements and requirements of the position and should not be taken as an all inclusive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required, of an individual assigned to this job. The transporter transports patients to and from the department. Other duties include but are not limited to; Darkroom duties, ordering supplies, stocking, dressing patients and front office duties. This performs clerical duties for the department such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients. Other duties include, but are not limited to, filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records. The transporter should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered in department person should demonstrate good telephone etiquette and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner. Provides clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, office equipment, PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) and by running errands throughout the facility.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
