Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Transportation Aide to support patient flow within the hospital. You will transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher, ensuring safety and timeliness, and you will maintain transport equipment and vehicles to a ready state.

You will document transports in the Tele tracking system, respond to call lights promptly, and assist patients with mobility as needed. This role emphasizes teamwork, patient respect, and adherence to hospital procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair or stretcher to various areas of the hospital as assigned.
• Records each transport showing time left unit, destination and time returned to unit using Tele tracking system.
• Maintains vehicles, keeping them clean and in good repair, and inspects/cleans vehicles as directed by supervisor.
• Responds to call lights promptly and communicates needs to appropriate personnel.
• Assists patients out of bed and uses lifting devices as required.
