Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System is seeking a Driver to safely transport ambulatory and wheelchair enrollees to medical appointments, following all MVHS safety standards and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include documenting stops in the work-app, communicating with dispatch, performing pre/post trip inspections, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements. Shift hours are 7.50 per day; FTE 0.94; pay range $17.00–$20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Acceptable driving record from NYS DMV.
• Knowledge of mobile phone applications/GPS applications.
• Computer literacy including data entry, retrieval and report generation.
• Ability to work with consumers/families of all ages in various settings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead, guide and motivate others.
• Ability to drive to/from various settings in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to remain alert at all times during the work day/shift.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports enrollees from pickup location to destinations.
• Documents all stops in the trip route using the assigned work-cell app.
• Answers incoming calls and communicates with dispatcher, team leader or supervisor.
• Documents pre- and post-trip inspections daily.
• Uses time management to ensure timely arrivals.
• Obeys applicable traffic laws and uses GPS for best routes.
• Keeps vehicle interior and exterior clean per infection control guidance.
• Notifies supervisor when vehicle maintenance is needed.
• Attends departmental and organizational meetings and activities.
• Complies with HIPAA and MVHS policies.
