Hackensack Meridian Health in Edison, NJ, is seeking a patient transporter to move patients between care areas in a courteous, safe, and timely manner. You will work closely with nursing staff to transfer patients between beds and transport modes such as wheelchairs or stretchers.

This entry-level role includes on-the-job training and requires the ability to assist patients weighing 100 to 300+ lbs and to operate the facility paging system to track movements.

Competenze

• Must be able to support and push patients of various body conditions (weights ranging from 100 lbs to 300+ lbs).
• On-the-job training will be provided by the Team Leader and Patient Transport staff.
• Must be able to work with the paging system to track patient movement and transport staff.

The patient transporter is directly responsible for the courteous, safe and timely movement of patients from one patient care area to another within the Medical Center. This includes the cooperative effort, with nursing personnel to physically move the patient between the bed and mode of transportation (i.e. wheelchair, stretcher, etc.).

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Entry level position. On the job training will be provided by the Team Leader and Patient Transport staff.
• Must be able to support and push patients of various body conditions (weights ranging from 100 lbs to 300+ lbs).
• Must be able to work with the paging system that allows the facility to track the movement of the patients and the transport staff.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Experience in patient transport, medical experience and patient contact preferred.
