The Communication Specialist (CS) coordinates communication among a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and safe patient transfers into and out of Children's Health System of Texas (CHST). They facilitate communication with multiple physicians regarding transfers or consultations and manage system-level bed coordination to ensure patients are placed appropriately with the necessary resources. The CS maintains records of transfers in the electronic health record and documents patient information accurately.
At least 1 year of related experience required.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school preferred. Completion of a paramedic or EMT program with licensure or certification required.
Texas LP, Texas EMT-P, or Texas EMT upon hire required. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required upon hire.
