Job summary

Community Care Physicians is seeking a full-time Patient Support Specialist for our Albany Family Medicine office. This 40-hour week runs Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with a competitive hourly wage and a $1,000 recruitment and retention bonus.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient service, handle check-in and scheduling, verify insurance, and maintain patient flow. Strong clerical skills, medical terminology knowledge, and a professional demeanor are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education desirable.
• Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and checking in patients when they arrive to the office.
• Process incoming telephone calls/messages based on office policy and procedure.
• Schedule appointments for patients, following office protocols for access to care.
• Schedule follow up appointments as directed by providers or as indicated on encounter forms.
• Obtain patient signature on waivers according to insurance requirements.
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Verify patient insurance coverage/demographic information at each visit and update when necessary.

Our Albany Family Medicine office is hiring a full-time Patient Support Specialist to join their team! This is a 40 hour work week, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

This position is eligible for up to a $1,000.00 recruitment and retention bonus!!

The ideal candidate will have superior customer service skills, preferably in the medical field. This position is formerly known as a Medical Secretary.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and checking in patients when they arrive to the office.
• Process incoming telephone calls/messages based on office policy and procedure.
• Schedule appointments for patients, following office protocols for access to care.
• Schedule all follow up appointments as directed by the providers or as indicated on encounter forms.
• Obtain patient signature on the appropriate waiver(s) according to insurance requirements
• Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Verify patient insurance coverage/demographic information at each visit and update when necessary

Compensation: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
