Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde, NC, part of LifePoint Health, is seeking a dedicated Patient Sitter to provide direct patient observation and support to the RN and care team in a fast-paced ED setting.

You will participate in ensuring safety, communicating needs, and assisting with basic tasks under supervision, with a focus on compassionate care for patients during days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required or preferred.
• Clear communication, listening and observation skills.
• Ability to respond quickly and physically can sit, stand, bend and lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient observation and input in planning care through communication with the RN and other patient care team members.
• Maintain the standard of care for assigned patients through communication with the care team.
• Provide a safe environment for patients requiring close supervision because of behavioral health issues.
• Complete duties under the direct supervision of the RN.
