GW Hospital seeks a sitter to provide 1:1 observation for psychiatric patients and monitor those at risk of falls, under the close supervision of a registered nurse. The role emphasizes compassionate care and patient safety within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and basic healthcare awareness; prior healthcare exposure is preferred. Training in patient observation and emergency alert procedures is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Health care experience preferred.
• Successful completion of training or demonstration of understanding and practical competency in: elderly, handicapped or convalescing needs; transportation and escort services; alerting staff for medical emergencies; infection control.

Responsibilities

• The sitter provides 1:1 observation for psychiatric patients and observes patients who are at risk for falls or other harm to themselves, under the supervision of the registered nurse.
