Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Patient Sitter provides continuous observation and monitoring of patients who require enhanced safety measures due to medical or behavioral conditions. The Patient Sitter ensures patient safety by remaining within arm’s reach or line-of-sight of the patient at all times, responding quickly to patient needs, and communicating significant changes in patient behavior or condition to nursing staff. Responsibilities include non-clinical support duties, emotional reassurance to patients, and assistance with maintaining a clean and safe environment.
