Job summary

Tenet Healthcare in Texas is seeking a nursing aide to support the nursing service with patient care, personal needs, and comfort. The role includes assisting with hygiene, taking vital signs, changing linens, and helping with meals and nourishment; equipment handling, cleaning, and sterilizing supplies as needed.

The successful candidate will follow instructions and established guidelines, work under supervision, and report to a registered nurse or supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: 6 months hospital experience.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene and daily care.
• Take and monitor vital signs and report deviations.
• Change bed linens and assist with mobility and comfort.
• Serve and collect food trays and support between-meal nourishment.
• Clean, sterilize, store, and prepare supplies as directed.

Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs, and changes bed linens. May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment, and clean, sterilize, store, and prepare other supplies. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.

Education:

• Required: High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

• Preferred: 6 months of hospital experience

Certifications:

• Required: AHA BLS
