Job summary

Baptist Health in Conway, AR seeks a Behavioral Health Sitter to provide continuous one-to-one observation for patients with suicidal thoughts. Under a licensed nurse, you will monitor and report observations, ensuring hand-off procedures are followed to maintain safety, while staying respectful to patients, staff, and physicians.

The role supports the Nursing Sitters department with night shifts and involves staying with patients during the shift to ensure a safe environment.

Qualifications

Summary

To assist in maintaining a safe environment for behavioral health patients with suicidal thoughts. Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the sitter will maintain continuous observation of the patient as a one to one sitter. Reports pertinent observations regarding patients to the appropriate person (primary nurse). Does not leave the patient room until hand off so that continuous observation will be maintained. Shows respect for the dignity of individuals by addressing patients, employees and physicians in a respectful and pleasant manner
