Job summary

Twin Cities Orthopedics is seeking a Patient Services Representative – MRI to manage high-volume patient calls related to MRI scheduling, registration and inquiries. This role supports registration, scheduling, and prior authorizations to ensure patients understand imaging coverage.

This is a part-time position (0.2 FTE), working Saturdays 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM at Woodbury and Stillwater locations. Prior authorization experience is highly preferred and travel between clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Administrative or Medical Office experience preferred.
• Insurance prior authorization experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; collect insurance information and photo ID.
• Respond to calls related to scheduling, prior authorizations, insurance coverage, and appointment prep.
• Verify and document insurance information as per policies.
• Schedule patients accurately in the practice management system.
• Communicate appointment details, directions, check-in times, referrals and copayments to patients.
• Obtain and follow up on prior authorizations as needed.
• Understand payer requirements to assist the care team.
• Travel to multiple clinic locations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Patient Services Representative – MRI serves as a primary point of contact for patients, managing a high volume of incoming and outgoing phone calls related to MRI scheduling, registration, and patient inquiries. This position is responsible for patient registration, clinical support duties, scheduling coordination, and the prior authorization process to ensure patients understand imaging insurance coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements.

This is a part-time role (0.2 FTE), working every Saturday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM out of our Woodbury and Stillwater locations.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Job Functions:

• Greet and register patients; collect insurance information and photo ID
• Respond to calls through the phone queue related to scheduling, prior authorizations, insurance coverage, and appointment preparation.
• Verify and document insurance information as defined by current business practices
• Accurate and timely scheduling of new and existing patients in the current practice management system
• Communicate all pertinent information to patients, including appointment information, directions, check-in times, referral information and copayments
• Initiate prior authorization request and follow-up as necessary
• Maintain a working knowledge of health care plan requirements and health plan networks. Additionally, be aware of required payer authorization to facilitate care team questions and requests
• Maintain timely communication with patients, families, and staff
• Travel to and work from multiple clinic locations as needed to support business operations and patient care needs
• Any and all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent
• Customer service experience required
• Administrative or Medical Office experience preferred
• Insurance prior authorization experience strongly preferred

Benefits & Compensation:

• Actual starting pay will vary based on education, skills, and experience.
• The pay range displayed reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated for employees working less than a full-time schedule.
• A $1,500.00 sign-on bonus will be offered, payable on first paycheck with a 12-month commitment. Internal applicants are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.

Working Conditions:

• Frequentlylift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.
• Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
• Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
• Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).
