to 6:00 p.m., including some Saturdays. You will verify demographics, schedule appointments, obtain authorizations, post payments, and support smooth patient flow in a family-centered setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years minimum medical experience.
  • Computer/typing skills required.
  • Clerical experience in a physician's office preferred; EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive patients in a professional and caring manner.
  • Gather and update information regarding demographics and insurance.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments.
  • Obtain authorization and pre-certification.
  • Document and follow up on referrals.
  • Document and follow up on no-shows and cancelations.
  • Answer telephone using proper phone etiquette and direct calls accordingly.
  • Maintain content and organization of medical records.
  • Register patients, collect payments, post charges and document all financial transactions.
  • Order clerical and clinical supplies and maintain records.
  • Monitor waiting rooms and inform patients of delays.
  • Advise families regarding Medicaid and Nemours Financial Assistance.
  • Assist with transportation arrangements and patient flow.
  • Prepare office communications and participate in QA activities.
  • File patient charts and scan documents into EPIC.

Job Description

Nemours is seeking a Full-Time 32 hours a week PSR II who will provide exceptional service to patients and families by rotating between the front desk and phone room. This is a full-time position with the following clinic operating hours: Monday–Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and every other Saturday: 7:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. Team members should expect to work a minimum of six Saturdays per year. This position requires flexibility to rotate between front desk and phone room responsibilities based on operational needs while upholding Nemours’ commitment to service excellence, teamwork, and family-centered care.

Schedule: 32 hours per week with hours that can range between 7a-6p.

Provide service excellence to each patient and family by performing and completing designated business processes associated with an outpatient visit. At each outpatient visit, complete processes in an efficient fashion, ensuring that the patient and family are prepared for their outpatient appointment in a timely fashion. Also, ensure that all demographic and financial information is accurately verified in advance of the patient visit, and monitor the waiting room and work environment to ensure patient safety and high service levels. Participate in Nemours programs for continuous quality, performance, and service improvement and work with department management to improve the services provided, through a team-based approach.

  • Register patients, collect payments from patients, post charges according to procedures, provide receipts and appropriately document all financial transactions. This includes cash reconciliation and bank deposit preparation.
  • Order clerical and clinical supplies and maintain records.
  • Monitor waiting rooms and keep patients informed as to schedule delays.
  • Advise families regarding obtaining Medicaid coverage and/or Nemours Financial Assistance for their children.
  • Assist with arrangements for transportation
  • Assist with patient flow.
  • Prepare office communications
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Filing of patient charts, correspondence and related documentation scan documents into EPIC.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and forms
  • Open and sort mail, lab reports and consultation reports. Stamp “received” and distribute for Provider review.
