Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Part‑time Patient Services Officer to join the Medical Records team at Western Isles Hospital. The role offers a Band 2 salary pro rata, with an additional Distant Islands Allowance pro rata, for an 18-hour week and permanent appointment.

Experience in public-facing administrative work, strong communication, and computer literacy are essential. PVG clearance will be required for the successful candidate.

Patient Services Officer

Band 2 £26,696 - £28,988 pro rata

Plus £1,461 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata

We are looking for a motivated, friendly person who enjoys the challenge of working as part of a team in a changing environment. Ideally, you have a good general education, experience of working with the public in an administrative role, have demonstrable good communication skills and enjoy working in a busy environment. Computer literacy and attention to detail are essential.

• The successful candidate will be based in Medical Records, Western Isles Hospital.
• Training for the position will be provided in-house.

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
