Job summary

Aurora Medical Group (AMG) is part of Advocate Health, and is seeking a Customer Service–oriented Patient Service Representative to support providers and improve the patient experience.

The role emphasizes scheduling, billing and medical records duties, with a 40-hour work week, Monday–Friday 8:30a–5p, and no holidays or weekends.

Monday through Friday, 8:30a to 5pm. No Holidays or weekends

Pay Range: $19.80 - $29.70

Summary:

To provide efficient, effective, quality customer service and practice support through a variety of general office duties including scheduling, coding, registration and billing. Maximize revenues by collecting payment at time of service and entering accurate and up-to-date billing information (address, insurance coverage, etc.) into the patient accounting system. Assists clinical staff in maintaining accurate medical records.

What You’ll Do:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm. No weekends, no holidays and no call.

As a Patient Service Representative (PSR), you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:

  • Patient Services: Provides efficient, high-quality service to patients who arrive for appointments or who telephone or visit in person to request appointments or information on tests and procedures, bills and charges, referrals, and other matters.
  • Billing Services: Ensures entry at time of service of billing information on the patient and payer and accurate follow-up on missing information.
  • Medical Record Services: Upholds standards of the practice and of the medical group for accurate and timely medical records.

Our experienced team of gastroenterologists in Milwaukee, WI, can diagnose and treat a variety of gastrointestinal diseases and digestive disorders and provide care for the entire digestive system including the throat, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, stomach and colon. These providers are the experts when it comes to care for gastrointestinal diseases and conditions such as abdominal pain, acid reflux (GERD), celiac disease, constipation, Crohn's disease, hemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis and more.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to function in a high volume, multiple-task environment, and in a crowded or closely shared workspace.
  • Exposure to ill patients.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
  • Must lift up to 35 pounds without help. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
