Job summary

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is hiring a Patient Service Representative (PSR) for Pinehurst Primary Care. This full-time, on-site role supports patients from check-in to scheduling, handles demographic/insurance data, collects payments, and coordinates appointment logistics across multiple locations in Moore County and surrounding counties.

The PSR acts as a liaison between patients and medical staff, greets visitors, answers inquiries, and assists with basic administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–2 years experience in a medical office setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors, instruct and direct them; collect patient demographics, insurance information, and payments at check-in/out or when scheduling.
  • Schedule patient appointments for established and new patients as appropriate.
  • Answer phones, return messages, provide accurate information, and handle requests.
  • Maintain lobby area and coordinate physician schedules; ensure up-to-date information.
  • Assist with medical records and related paperwork as needed.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
1-3 months related experience and/or training
1-2 years medical office experience (preferred)

What will you do as aPMCPatient Service Representative (PSR)

As a PMC Patient Service Representative (PSR) you will serve as an essential part of the patient’s experience acting as a liaison between patients and medical support staff by greeting, instructing, and directing patients and visitors. You will perform various tasks such as entering all patient demographics, insurance information, and collection of payments upon check-in/out or when scheduling an appointment. A day in the life of a PMC Patient Service Representative (PSR) may include:

  • Greeting our patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner; answering requests for information.
  • Checking in patients, verifying and updating necessary information, then acknowledging patients and checking patients out. Along with assuring that patients are kept apprised of the physician’s timetable in the event, it will increase the patient’s waiting time.
  • Advises patients regarding certain financial obligations including but not limited to co-payments, deductible amounts, insurance eligibility, etc.
  • Maintaining the lobby in a neat and orderly manner including keeping magazines current.
  • Maintaining and coordinating the physicians’ schedules, having a thorough knowledge of physician specialties and medical practices.
  • Answering telephones and returning calls in a timely manner, taking messages, handling requests, and providing accurate information as necessary.
  • Handling mail, paperwork via fax, and medical records, assuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Being a key piece in the PMC mission by providing the highest quality of care to our patients and the communities we serve.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to two-year experience in a medical office setting.

Shift: Day Shift (Monday through Friday) no weekends or holidays
Pay Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
