Job summary

Hmixray is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet and register patients, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and coordinate appointments in a fast-paced radiology environment.

You will work closely with back-office staff to ensure timely care, safeguard patient information, and maintain professional interactions with patients and colleagues while upholding cultural sensitivity and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills.
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service.
  • Medical terminology knowledge and recent medical/radiology office experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Verify insurance and patient information and collect signatures; ensure documentation is complete.
  • Collect and log co-pays and fees.
  • Answer and transfer incoming calls.
  • Schedule, reschedule or cancel appointments; confirm and communicate changes.
  • Provide orientation on preparatory and safety procedures; direct patients to facilities as needed.
  • Coordinate with back-office staff for timely patient care.
  • Safeguard patient information and property per policy and law.
  • Safeguard on-site medications as required by policy and law.
  • Maintain professional behavior toward patients and coworkers; respect boundaries and sensitivities.
  • Interact diplomatically with patients, families, and the public in a clinical setting.
  • Establish, nurture, and maintain cooperative working relationships.

When you join usas a Patient Service Representative, you will be joining a dedicated team of professionals who deliver quality, value, and access in the 21st century and align all stakeholders- patients, providers, payors, and regulators to achieve the best clinical outcomes.

You Will:
  • Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information, collect signatures and ensure accuracy and completion of necessary documentation.
  • Collect and log all co-pays and fees
  • Answer/transfer incoming phone calls.
  • Schedule, reschedule or cancel new or current patients, confirm appointments and notify staff of changes when necessary.
  • Give patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols, and provide directions to facilities if needed.
  • Coordinate with the back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients
  • Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
  • Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
  • Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
  • Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
  • Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the public in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrates ability to establish, nurture, and maintain cooperative working relationships.
