Job summary

Forefront Dermatology in Orlando, FL is seeking a Patient Service Representative to support patient check-in, verify insurance, and maintain medical records in a fast-paced clinic. You will manage a multi-line phone system, assist with co-pays and payments, and help keep the reception area organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
• Proficient in basic computer functions.
• Ability to learn new software quickly.
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment.
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.
• Must possess attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing clinic duties.
• Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance.
• Scans documents into electronic health record.
• Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day.
• Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day.
• Schedules follow up appointments as needed.
• Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record.
• Orders clinic office supplies.
• Sells and tracks cosmetic products.
• Distributes mail.
• Prepares for next day scheduled appointments.

The Patient Service Representative is responsible for the patient check-in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi-line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co-pays and cash payments.

Schedule: 40 hours/week

Monday–Thursday: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM or 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
Friday: 6:30 AM–2:00 PM or 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
